REVIEWS

It can be done. It just takes guts!
Building Trust in Government: Governor Richard H. Bryan's Pursuit of the Common Good

This book is a roadmap for anyone interested in public service. It is more than that, it should be a must read for anyone seeking public office. It is a roadmap to rebuilding what our nation has lost....Today’s leaders and next generations would do well to learn from these examples.

Great introduction of African American history in Northern Nevada!
Ben Palmer: Black Pioneers on the Frontier
"Ben Palmer: Black Pioneers on the Frontier" by John L. Smith offers a clearer picture of the character, accomplishments, challenges, and personality of Ben Palmer. This book presents, in a tangible way, the social and political environment in which Ben Palmer, his family, and other African American trail blazers thrived in Nevada during the mid 1800's. I feel this is a great introduction of African American history in Northern Nevada and I encourage folks to dig deeper into this subject.

Foreword Reviews November/December 2020
What if Night?
A little girl who wants playtime to never end learns the importance of darkness and rest in What if Night?  Rich blues and purples form a peaceful backdrop for nocturnal animals and insects, contrasting with the bright white of the moon and the young girl’s knitted yellow hat. With her playful pup by her side, she grows to appreciate and preserve the darkness, taking care to turn off all of the lights before tucking herself into bed to wait for another day of play to begin.

Horatio Holmes series

These fun, early chapter books would make a wonderful gift for early readers that are ready for a great plot. The vocabulary is higher than average for this range but has great context that makes it perfect for independent readers and shows age-appropriate material.”
